Elementary
Welcome to Concordia Elementary School!

At Concordia, we are passionate about preparing faith secure, world ready, kingdom leaders through Christ-centered learning experiences. We know of no other hope outside of the death and resurrection of our Savior, Jesus Christ. It is our joy to share this hope and the love of our great God with our students and their families.
We believe each child is uniquely created by God with specific gifts and abilities. With this in mind, Concordia Elementary School is proud to offer two distinct programs. Concordia Academy and Concordia Ignite are each designed to provide a high-quality education rooted in God’s word and academic excellence.
Concordia Academy offers a cohesive classroom experience where students progress through grade-level curriculum in community with peers of the same age. With a focus on group instruction and shared academic milestones, Academy classrooms provide a steady rhythm of learning across core subjects, while still offering support and enrichment opportunities tailored to each child.
Concordia Ignite is an intentionally multi-age learning experience. In Ignite, younger students learn from older peers, and older students grow as leaders. This environment allows students to partner in managing their learning and choose some areas of exploration. While some subjects can be more personalized in Ignite, other subjects are taught in larger group settings.
Whether your child thrives in a structured peer cohort or in a flexible, student-driven environment, Concordia offers a place where all elementary-aged students can grow spiritually, academically, and socially while being supported by caring teachers and grounded in the love of Christ.
We can’t wait to see all that God will do in the lives of our students and families!

Concordia Elementary School Experience
Our values impact all K-5 student learning at Concordia. Students will experience the following in all of our elementary classrooms.
Deep Roots in God's Word
Jesus is at the center of each Concordia classroom. In Deuteronomy 6:6-7, God commands the Israelites through Moses, “And these words that I command you today shall be on your heart. You shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, and when you walk by the way, and when you lie down, and when you rise.” We know that faith comes through hearing God’s Word, and we teach it daily. God’s Word is incorporated through all areas of our curriculum and also informs how we relate to one another.
Faith-Fueled Community
We serve a great God. Everything we do revolves around him. We worship together, pray together, and serve together as a community as an outpouring of what God has done for us. All Concordia Elementary students gather together on Wednesdays for chapel services to learn from God’s Word and worship him together. Prayer and conversations of faith are incorporated and weaved into each classroom daily. We focus on serving God and serving others wherever we are including in our school, in our churches, and and in our homes. Additionally, each classroom focuses on a specific group to serve including community members, veterans, and the elderly.
Maximizing God's Gifts
We provide opportunities for students to learn through play, the manipulation of learning resources, learning centers, and experimentation. We encourage student exploration and discovery while sharing guidance and context to help students develop foundational life skills and concepts. All students have movement opportunities at recess each day and at least one hour of PE each week. Concordia Elementary students also enjoy a robust fine arts experience through our art and music education curricula. Students have additional fine arts opportunities in performance ensembles for vocal music (K-5th), strings (3rd-5th), handbells (4th-5th), and band (5th).
Academic Excellence
In each Concordia Elementary School classroom, quality curriculum is facilitated by top-tier staff members. Concordia has adopted a curriculum review procedure to ensure our students learn from excellent materials. More importantly, the Concordia Elementary staff is composed of exceptional educators who facilitate student learning and exploration, provide students with opportunities for choice, and foster a love of the education process so that students might become readers and learners for life.
Meaningful Relationships
We highly value teachers, parents, and students working together in partnership. We respect parents as the first educators of their children and work hard to foster strong, collaborative relationships to create a caring, family atmosphere in each classroom so students can thrive. Our students also enjoy relationships that are unique in a K-12 setting. Elementary students benefit from the positive leadership of high school classroom assistants. They also have the opportunity to remain connected to teachers who love and care for them for years to come.
Embracing Challenges
Life is full of challenges. In the midst of these challenges we strive to learn and grow to develop resilience and perseverance. Concordia Elementary School teachers hold students to high standards and give appropriate support to students to help them reach learning goals. Our curriculum supports students in developing problem-solving, communication, and executive functioning skills, which will serve our students well beyond their elementary years.
