Mario Alejandre

Advancement Officer Mario Alejandre

Mario Alejandre was born in Stockton, CA, and lived there until he was in 4th grade. His father worked for Union Pacific Railroad, which moved their family to Salt Lake City, UT where Mario spent most of his formative years.

After graduating from Kearns High School, Mario attended Utah State University, where he began pursuing a degree in Special Education. While at Utah State, he took his first philosophy class, not knowing at the time that it was a window into his future field of study. After a series of unexpected twists and turns, Mario transferred to the University of Utah and graduated with a bachelor's degree in philosophy. He also holds a master's degree in Christian apologetics from Biola University. Mario also completed a two-year directed study and internship in Utah, supplementing his graduate work to prepare him for ministry. He currently holds ministry credentials with the North American Lutheran Church and Lutheran Congregations in Mission for Christ. His varied work experiences have allowed him to serve and connect with others in various contexts.

More importantly, Mario is privileged to be married to his wife Tera and loves being a dad to his two children, both high school students at Concordia. His favorite things include discussing pop culture, music, tv, film, good coffee, food, University of Utah football, the Utah Jazz, and Jesus.
